WHO WE ARE

The Central Virginia Academy for Nonprofit Excellence (CVANE) improves the quality, integrity, and effectiveness of Central Virginia’s charitable organizations through the education of board members, staff, and volunteers.

By strengthening, educating and engaging non-profits, CVANE seeks to help improve the quality of life in Central Virginia through improved program operations, increased resources for families and individuals, and greater impact of charitable donations.

CVANE provides unique training by seasoned professionals who are experts in their respective fields, and offers training at an affordable cost to ensure accessibility to a wide range of nonprofit organizations in Lynchburg and its surrounding counties.

CREATING CONNECTIONS

Celebrate the excellence of your nonprofit organization at a CVANE networking event. Attendees will mingle with other nonprofit professionals and can enjoy a free drink by registering! Registration is now open for CVANE's 2024 Holiday Social and 2025 Spring Mixer.

YEARLY TRAININGS

Workshops include topics such as Board of Directors Best Practices, Form 990, Philanthropic Grant Writing Skills, Building a Culture of Philanthropy, Planned Giving, Cybersecurity, Social Media Marketing, Capital Campaign Management and more!

We are thankful for the partnership with United Way of Central Virginia to be able to use their board room for our trainings for 2023-2024.

United Way Incubator Project - Caroline Hudson Scholarship

In support of the nonprofit incubator project at United Way of Central VA and in memory of Caroline Hudson, we hold four seats for each training in-person on our 2023-2024 for participants of the incubator program to attend for free.
